A word of advice.

Hey all,

If you are making a dessert for a barbeque you are attending, you should show up the day of the barbeque and not the day after, because that is embarrassing.

Also I’ve got plenty of strawberries and ice cream, so feel free to come over and help out with the eating.

xoxo,
m

Nephew’d!

iTunes: Bob Dylan - The Times They Are A-Changin’

My little sister Colleen had a baby this morning! His name is Eli Mark Velting, and he weighs 8 lbs 6 oz. He was born at 6:55 AM. Carolyn and I went to meet him on our lunch break today and he is really quite something. He is currently on my list of favorite things, which also includes robots, outer space travel, and laffy taffy (possibly just a phase.). We are going to go see him again later this evening.

For those of you who don’t know, this makes me an uncle. I will expect to be referred to with the proper title upon our next meeting.

Follow the link below to see a picture. We will take some more tonight, and maybe I will figure out how to get them to appear in the body of the post. Any suggestions?

More later…

(Update: Picture is up! Thanks, Ron!)

It’s time I used this.

iTunes: Chris Walla - Field Manual

So. We started this website a year and a half ago to post information about our wedding, and then turn it into some sort of blog thing afterwards. Since our wedding I have used it a grand total of zero (0) times, and Carolyn told me if we didn’t start using it, I couldn’t have it anymore. Today I found a great excuse to start using it. I’ve been reading a blog called 88 Topps Cards. It’s a site maintained by Andy, who works for the Baseball Reference Stat of the Day Blog. He is going through the 1988 Topps set one by one, posting a bit about each card and including a cool stat involving each player. There are also baseball card giveaways every week or so. For today’s giveaway, all you need to do is post a link to the 88 Topps Cards Blog on a website somewhere. For doing this, you could receive 5 cards from the 1988 O-Pee-Chee baseball card set. There are rules for posting the link, and you can check them out at the blog. I am going to post a link over on the right hand side here(if I can figure out how, I will put one in the body of this post as well). If I receive cards, I promise to scan them and show you which ones I got and maybe post a bit about each player as well.

Even if you don’t care about the giveaways, you should check out the site. Its been fun revisiting these cards and players. I’ve even been digging through my old baseball card sets.

As for Carolyn and I, we are alive, well, and happily married (and soon to be Aunt Carolyn and Uncle Mark). If I figure it out, there will be a new picture of us as well.
